Naval veteran Salvatore Cutino, who served aboard the U.S.S. Belleau Wood during World War II, received the New York state Conspicuous Service Star. Cutino was previously awarded the state Conspicuous Service Cross, a Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with three stars, World War II victory citation and the American Theater Ribbon.
Joseph Gyimoty, a former Army sergeant, was awarded the Korean War Medal. Gyimoty previously earned the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars and the United National Service Medal.
Army veteran David Levitan earned the Conspicuous Service Cross and Conspicuous Service Star. Levitan, who is now a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, also holds the Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Badges for the M-14 and M-16 rifles, Vietnam Service Medal with five bronze service starts, two Air Medals, Vietnam Campaign medal and Army Commendation Medal.
World War II veteran Ralph Montagna was awarded the New York state Medal for Merit and state Conspicuous Service Star for his efforts with the Army in the Pacific Theater. Montagna had previously received the Meritorious Unit and Philippine Presidential Citations, Good Conduct Medal, Occupation of Japan Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, American Campaign Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal.
Lawrence Schultz received the Korean War Medal for his service in the Army. Schultz already holds the Korean Service Medal with one bronze star, the United Nations Service Medal and the national Defense Service Medal.
Robert Schwab, who served in Europe during World War II, earned the New York state Conspicuous Service Cross. Schwab, who is an Army veteran, also holds the Purple Heart and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal.
Army veteran Max Schwartz received the New York state Medal for Merit. Schwartz, who served in the European Theater during World War II, had previously received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
