Fitness Schedule
"Fitness is a main feature of the fair," said SEPTA President Annmarie Giunta.
Parents, children and other community members are asked to wear comfortable clothing and to bring water and a towel for the many fitness activities being offered, all for a total price of only $5 per person.
The schedule is:
      6 to 6:30 p.m.: Sports conditioning for grades K to three, by certified fitness professional and SEPTA past President Petra Hurney, who is group fitness instructor for New York Sports Clubs.
       6:30 to 7 p.m.: Sports conditioning for grades four to seven, by Hurney.
      7 to 7:30 p.m.: Sports conditioning for grades eight to 12, by Hurney.
      8 to 8:30 p.m.: Yoga for grades K to seven, by certified instructor Patty Maraldo, who teaches yoga, Pilates, dance and theatre throughout Long Island, Queens and Manhattan.
      8:30 to 9 p.m.: Yoga for grades eight to 12, by certified instructor Maraldo.
      9 to 9:30 p.m.: Adult conditioning by Hurney.
      6 t 9:45 p.m.: Massages for all age groups, by certified massage therapist Gail Jacobs.
      6 to 9:45 p.m.: Chiropractic and scoliosis exams for all age groups, by Valley Stream chiropractor Dr. Rich DeAngelis.
      All instructors are certified in AED/CPR and in First Aid. SEPTA notes that not all exercises for suitable for everyone. A doctor should be consulted before participating in physical activities. Instructions and advice are not intended as a substitute for medical counseling.
Raffle, vendor, snack and informational tables
      Also a part of the SEPTA Spring Fair are raffles tables; vendor tables for products such as kids' novelties, hand-made baby outfits, children's clothing, homemade chocolates, crafts, cosmetics, food storage containers and jewelry, and refreshment tables selling drinks and light snacks.
      Information tables will be provided by Friends of Bridge, I-SAFE (an Internet safety program for children), a real estate agency, a mortgage advisor and a tax accountant.
      Senior Girl Scout Troup 2348 and students from Central, North and South High Schools are volunteering their services to help at the fair.
