Seven seats up on Valley Stream's school boards

Valley Stream’s three elementary school districts are accepting candidates for the Board of Education election in May.

In District 13, the seats of Frank Chiachiere, Sean Douglas and Debra Evans are up this year. Each seat is for a three-year term. Nominating petitions can be picked up at the district office at the James A. Dever School on North Corona Avenue, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Petitions are due back to the district office no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18.

District 24 has three seats up this year, currently held by Paul DePace, Carole Meaney and Ian Wraith. Each seat is for a three-year term. Nominating petitions can be picked up on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the William L. Buck School on Horton Avenue. Petitions must be returned by Monday, April 18 at 4 p.m. in order to be eligible to run for school board.

In District 30, there is one seat up this year, currently held by trustee Kenneth Cummings. The seat is for a five-year term. Nominating petitions can be picked up at the district office, 175 N. Central Ave., weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Petitions are due back at the district by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18.
