On the heels of a stunning victory for Tom Suozzi, both county-wide and locally, Long Beach Democratic leaders are lining up behind the man they opposed until last week's primary.
Local Democratic leader Gene Cammarato said he will back Suozzi's pursuit of the County Executive seat.
I support the Democratic victor, which is what I said from day one I would do, Cammarato said.
Suozzi pulled off the win despite lacking the support of most Nassau County party leaders in the race for the county executive seat being vacated by Tom Gulotta. Top party brass that included the Long Beach Democratic Club had thrown their support behind Assemblyman Tom DiNapoli.
