H: Obviously the legislature has a lot of its plate this year. In your mind, what's the number one order of business?
JS: The main focus is still resotring fiscal stability without a doubt. There's two reasons I wanted to run in '99. I wanted to bring the political focus back to Baldwin and help restore fiscal stablity back to Nassau County. In the past couple of years, we've worked real hard on that... [and] we've really made some tremedous strides --bringing in the NIFA (Nassau Interim Finance Authority) board, passing reassessment, passing the first-time ever four-year plan, passing the first balanced budget for the first time in years. These were great accomplishments that we really had to struggle with though.... The first two years, we passed what we felt were responisble budgets
