Lynbrook and East Rockaway residents woke up to a familiar site Monday morning: snow blanketing the ground and still falling from the sky.

The National Weather Service said a winter storm warning is in effect until 7 p.m. for Nassau County, New York City and southern portions of northeastern New Jersey with four to eight inches projected to fall in southwestern Nassau County.

The Lynbrook and East Rockaway school districts cancelled Monday classes.
