On Sight Support raises funds for the purchase of body armor (or level 4 ballistic vests) for U.S. troops stationed in Iraq. To date, the group has sent two tons of used Kevlar donated by the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association and New York City Police. In addition, the group has donated eight new level 4 ballistic vests, 800 pairs of socks, foot powder, goggles, glasses, Nomex hoods, meals and other goods.
According to Nicholas Kester, of Onsight Support, there is a waiting list of 16 soldiers who need body armor, which protects them from deadly rifle rounds. To learn more about Onsight Support, visit them on-line at www.onsightsupport.org.
