Song, dance, puppets and laughter

Students at Hewitt Elementary School have been learning about the world through song, dance, puppetry and laughter.

During September and early October, Janice Bruckner, a dynamic children’s performing artist, presented a series of character education concerts to a captivated audience of kindergarten and first grade students. While entertaining the children with her catchy songs and adorable puppets, Bruckner taught her young audience about their own sense of individuality and the importance of kindness, sharing and cooperation. These exciting, interactive workshops were funded through a Rockville Centre Education Foundation grant written by kindergarten teacher David Ferrone and his wife, Christy.
