Malverne Village needs crossing guards for Nottingham Road and Hempstead Avenue. To help fill the void of the retired Barbara Graff, a position has been created to cover for guards that may be absent due to illness. Once the vacant position is filled, the "floater" would then cover any crossing for an absent crossing guard. In the event there is no crossing guard absent, this "floater" would work at Village Hall in whatever capacity the Village Clerk deems necessary and appropriate (i.e. clerical, filing, etc.). Floaters will be paid $12 an hour or $7,400 a year, with the maximum hours being about 16 hours per week. This position is contingent upon the candidate successfully being tested and trained for school crossing guard duty.
Additionally, the Village is still seeking a part-time Parking Meter Attendant, whose primary responsibility is writing parking tickets. The starting salary is $9,000 a year with a maximum 19 hours per week. The hours for this position are flexible so long as they coincide with needs of our senior, full-time Parking Meter Attendant. Malverne residents will be hired on a preferred basis. Anyone interested should apply to Malverne Village Hall, 99 Church Street, Malverne, NY 11565.
