Blessing of the Pets On Sun., Oct. 5, Christ Episcopal Church of Lynbrook, located at the intersection of Peninsula Blvd & Hempstead Ave, will be holding its' 27th Annual Blessing of the Pets. All people and pets are welcomed to join us in the Rectory garden adjacent to the Church at 1 p.m. In the event of rain, the Blessing will be held inside. Kids rock On Oct. 4, at 11 a.m., Grace Playschool is presenting a solo show featuring Parents' Choice Silver Award winner Brady Rymer. Wesley hall in St. James Church, St. James and Forest avenues. Brady Rymer, a playful kid rocker with veteran songwriter/arranger roots, has created a good-times musical celebration that rocks out in undiluted fun. $10 per ticket . Yom Kippur services Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre/Congregation Etz Chaim welcomes non-affiliated Jews in our area to participate in our Community Yizkor Service. Breast cancer awareness The WRJ/Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook is hosting a special dinner and meeting on Tues. Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the guest speaker will be Susan Levy of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program $20 per person for dinner, or come for the program only at 8 p.m. at no charge. This is an issue that affects everyone - women and men of all ages.
