Luck be a lady On Thursday, Sept. 18, Congregation Beth David's Sisterhood is sponsoring a bus trip to Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Cost is $35 per person, with $20 in playing money from the casino. Bus will leave the synagogue parking lot, 188 Vincent Avenue promptly at 9 a.m. Seating is limited. Steady as you go A defensive driving course is being offered by the Lynbrook Baptist Church on Tuesday Sept. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Attendance is required on both nights. Take a shot Free flu shots are being offered by the East Rockaway School District, in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs, the Department of Health and the Nassau University Medical Center's 'Senior Citizen Flu Immunization Program'. There is no charge, and the program is available to all senior citizens, ages 60 and up, and their spouse (regardless of age), on Oct. 27, from 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Rhame Avenue Elementary School, 100 Rhame Avenue, East Rockaway (changed from East Rockaway High School). Annual "Fly with the Owls" 4-mile walk/run will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3. All proceeds support the Lynbrook Community Coalition, a not-for-profit organization that provides safe, drug-free and alcohol-free activities for youth.
