St. Agnes Academic School, Class of 1956, celebrated its 60th Reunion on June 28-29, reuniting 32 classmates (and 17 spouses) of their original class of 129. Coming from 10 states, they started the milestone occasion with a grand casual buffet dinner, complete with piano music and dancing at the lovely, intimate Cala di Mare Restaurant, located in the Best Western Mill River Hotel where owner Roberto outdid himself with food, service and ambience.

The following day classmates gathered for the 12:10 p.m. parish mass at St. Agnes Cathedral, which was offered for their 35 deceased classmates. It was a very uniting, heartfelt feature of the Reunion because it brought back so many memories of the events they shared there, Mass, Confession, Benediction, Rosary, May Crowning, Missions and Graduation. Fr. James Hansen and his classmate visiting from Rome celebrated Mass.

That night they celebrated a Gala Reunion Dinner at the Rockville Links Club. Following the main course, Reunion Chairman Elaine Edden Stillwell delivered a humorous roast of attending classmates and presented a dozen Reunion Awards to some deserving winners. While coffee and dessert were being served, the Souvenir 60th Reunion Yearbook was distributed and filled with stories and pictures of the Class of 1956. Classmates presented Stillwell with patches signed by each person attending to be made into a homemade quilt as a “thank you” for all the work done for a memorable Reunion.
