St. Agnes school gears up for Gala

The St. Agnes Cathedral School gala committee held its kickoff cocktail party on Dec. 6, according to School Board member Elena O’Donnell.

The 2013 Gala Ball, which will be held at the Garden City Hotel on Feb. 9, honors community members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to Catholic education and recognizes an educator for outstanding service.

The honorees for the 2013 gala ball are: John Suydam, who is scheduled to receive the St. Thomas Aquinas award for ongoing support of Catholic education; Diane Rowan, the recipient of the St. Catherine of Siena award for commitment to Catholic education; and Catherine Gibbons, the recipient of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton award for dedicated service to Catholic education. The event promises to be an elegant evening with fine food, live music and great company.
