St. Elizabeth hosts fund-raiser

Children ages 2 to 5 attend St. Elizabeth's early-childhood center in Wantagh, and students in grades one to eight go to school in Bellmore. Parishioners, priests, families, friends and faculty all gathered at St. Elizabeth in Wantagh for the auction, led by Dennis Geidice.
The event attracted about 150 people, and more than 125 items were auctioned off. The event raised $19,000 for St. Elizabeth.
A few of the highest bids were for a dinner for eight with the Rev. Peter Dooley, pastor of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Bellmore; a one-week stay at a Florida resort; and a pearl necklace with a mahogany wood jewelry box. The most popular bids were for principal for a day and a tea party with Mary Donahue, a second-grade teacher.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School takes in the parishes of St. Barnabas in Bellmore, Cur of Ars in Merrick, St. Frances in Wantagh and St. Raphael's in East Meadow.
