The Women For St. James United Methodist Church in Lynbrook hosted a fun event — and packed the house (rather the church’s Wesley Hall) on Sunday, Feb. 12. The theme was, of course, love (and broken hearts.)
With musical director and producer Jean Stevenson at the helm, the day featured a luncheon and dessert, followed by a variety of entertainers.
For a free-will offering, funds that were raised will benefit the missions and ministries of St. James UMC, which include fighting cancer, autism, AIDS, heart disease, as well as helping to supply food and medicine wherever needed in the world.
The performers included Yvonne Augustin, Linda Bakal, Monica Gigante, Frank Hendricks, Christopher Jaccino, Jeannine Longo, Mary Malloy, Pam Murano, Roy Schmitt, Kirstin Slattery, Christine Tarpinian, Jeannie Wahl and the St. James Sunday School Choir.
“We had a great turnout, and all of my performers were fantastic,” said Stevenson. “We hope to do another show in the future.”
