A distraught man had locked himself into his home on Brookline Avenue and was armed with either a rifle or a shotgun.
The incident shut down Nevada and Ohio avenues in Long Beach, and West Park Avenue between Ohio and Trenton, in addition to Brookline.
Reports came in just before the Herald's deadline. There were no shots fired or injuries as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
