Jack Sorentino is Chairman of the Board of the association. He said that a percentage of all the money used to purchase the works of art would go to the group, which in turn would be used to provide scholarships to local students and fund other community initiatives.

"I've never been to an auction before, but it's exciting," he said. "All of the paintings are very attractive."
