Street fair this Sunday

The fair will have some new features this year. There will be a Kiddie Corner with pony rides, face painting and a moon bouncer. Local businesses such as Happily Ever After, Maple Avenue Dance and the Art Studio will also be in the childrenÕs area.
Food vendors have also been added to the lineup this year, including the New Yorker, Ayhan's, Busco's Deli and South Village Deli. Plus, Holy Trinity Church will be holding its bake sale at the fair.
The fair will run along North Village Avenue, from Sunrise Highway to Centre Avenue. There is no charge for admission, and parking is free.
Showtiques will provide the arts and crafts venders, and local businesses will display their wares. Both chamber and non-chamber businesses are participating. In all there will be about 100 vendors, according to Barbara Klein of Snelling Personnel Services, who is helping to organize the festivities.
It gets people out on the streets, gets exposure for local businesses and brings people into the village, said Dr. Michael Rechter, president of the Chamber of Commerce, of the fair. The chamber has been sponsoring the event for about eight years. Rechter hopes that it will keep expanding, and more immediately is hoping for good weather this year.
The Chamber of Commerce will be handing out brochures that list all of the chamber businesses and include discount cards for special offers at participating businesses.
