The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County Inc. held its annual Sugar Plum Ball on Dec 11 at the Crest Hollow Country Club. According to Pat Quinn, a Rockville Centre resident who is the ucpn Community Outreach manager, nearly 500 people attended the elegant dinner dance for young ladies, ages 5 - 12 and their father or grandfather, and everyone had “a magnificent time.”
Robbie Rosen from American Idol started the evening by thrilling everyone with two songs and the ballet troupe from Leggz Ltd. Dance was just “magical” with their performance of the “Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker. Quinn said the audience was spellbound for both. Quinn said that on behalf of ucpn, she is so very grateful to Leggz Artistic Director Joan Mac Naughton, the dancers (who also performed at the recent Festival of Trees that also benefits ucpn) and the guests from Rockville Centre who attended the event.” News 12 covered the ball for a segment that is scheduled to air next week and again as part of a holiday special on Christmas Day.
