Summer fun at Lynbrook playgroup

Posted
Lynbrook children in grades K-8 once again have been enjoying a fun and enriching summer at the Lynbrook Public Schools Summer Playground Program, held at Marion Street and West End schools. The half-day program, held from July 5 through August 10, offers recreational activities, arts and crafts, computer classes and special events, including a spirit week, talent show, field day, carnival, pizza party and T-shirt signing day. The children participated in field trips to Greis Park, Color Nails, Sandee Lanes, Hot Skates, Fun Station and Turf Island, as well as to Plaza Theatrical Productions for shows such as “Cinderella.” This year, the program purchased Lynbrook Summer Playground staff t-shirts for the staff members to wear when escorting groups on field trips. There were also special on-site activities. Lauren Reganato, the home and careers teacher at Lynbrook High School, provided cooking classes for all of the campers in grades 1-8. Hair artist Alison Artz offered hair designs. As always, ice cream was distributed at the conclusion of the day each Friday. The program is open to the children of all Lynbrook School District and Village of Lynbrook residents.
