Surfer's Way, a Long Beach-based non-profit organization designed to offer children with special needs the opportunity to experience the exhilaration and liberation of surfing, is holding its surf outing on July 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Riverside Boulevard beach.

The organization offers free surf outings during the summer in a variety of locations, primarily in Long Beach. Elliot Zuckerman, of Surf2Live, and his team provide a fun, safe, and monumental surfing experience for children with special needs.

Surfing has been known to touch children with special needs and create a personal sense of accomplishment. The outings attract hundreds of kids each year, and two more are scheduled for August and September.

Through Surfer's Way, children have the chance to experience the freedom of surfing, regardless of their challenges. Visit www.surfersway.org.
