The body of a missing Farmingdale man, whose boat capsized in Jones Inlet off Point Lookout in early May, was recovered near Bayside Drive in Breezy Point, Nassau County Police said on Tuesday.

Police say, the body of 55-year-old Joseph Sparacio, washed ashore in front of the residence in Breezy Point. He went missing after the vessel he and three others were on capsized after trying to navigate rough water on May 3. The vessel was hit by multiple large waves, throwing all four occupants overboard, Nassau County police said. A civilian and his family assisted two victims, 24, and 26 years old, recovering them from the water, while initiating search and rescue efforts prior to the arrival of police. Both men were transported to an area hospital by The United States Coast Guard and area Fire Departments and treated for hypothermia.

Later that day, the body of John Costa, 55, of Farmingdale was recovered.

The search for Sparcio lasted for about three weeks and police say his body was recovered on May 24 and positively identified on Tuesday.
