Enjoying the company of neighbors and sipping hot chocolate provided by the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church and Busco's Deli, the crowd was treated to a medley of Christmas favorites sung by the combined South Side High School choruses, under the direction of Karen Faust Baer, and accompanied by the high school Wind Ensemble, directed by Barry LeBron, standing in for Gene Kaplan. Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer joined the singers and waved to the crowd. Santa Claus even made a fleeting, early appearance, waving to the crowd as he rode by on a Rockville Centre fire truck. Rockville Centre Mayor Mary Bossart, Deputy Mayor and Trustee Chuck Joyce, and trustees Andrew Karamouzis, Dave Krasula and Jeanne Mulry were joined by Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell, Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino and Parks and Recreation Supervisor Tony Brunetta.
