The Spiritual Connection: a column

With today’s busy lifestyles, and so much political and social unrest, it is so easy to get caught up in the negative things in life. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a weekly retreat into the spiritual side of life? I am not talking about any organized religion or religious agenda.

I am talking about those little voices within each of us, that innate knowing that we are all part of a vast and omnipresent universe with many wondrous possibilities.

Some people question why there are those who have stronger intuition than others, and I am here to tell you that we are all beings of light capable of immeasurable accomplishments if we open ourselves to the powers within each of us. To put it another way, we are all “spiritual” beings having a human experience on a planet called Earth. It is through our connection to this universal light that we know things beyond what the visible world can tell us, and we see things beyond what the physical world reveals. In order to access this wisdom, we can simply allow ourselves to remember that we are not limited, as we have been taught. In fact, we are filled with divine grace and power that is ours for the asking.

You cannot go anywhere — and I do mean anywhere — without someone talking about some “unusual,” “psychic,” “supernatural,” “coincidental” or just plain “freaky experience.” Many of us are reawakening to the truth of who we are, because we are living amid such large-scale changes in the world. We are starting to realize that maybe there really is no such thing as a coincidence, and maybe, just maybe, what was deemed as crazy, supernatural or a psychic experience is, in fact, very real. It is my hope to bring comforting anecdotes; share real life stories about so called “coincidences,” answer a few questions and lighten the emotional load we all carry these days. Let’s just let the universe be our guide and take us where we need to be. With the recent craze about the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and the popularity of psychic mediums, there has never been a better time for people to come together, even if it is just for a weekly read, to unleash the possibilities for our spiritual growth.

Robin Sciortino has lived in Baldwin for 11 years and is currently writing a spiritual book with a psychic medium.
