commented in her opening remarks at the 75th anniversary celebration of the school that "the sun always shines on Marion Street." Indeed on April 9, the weather cooperated with a gorgeous spring day, so children frolicked in the schoolyard, lines formed at the concession stand as well as the "Rainbow Fruit Cart" run by Anastasia Schepers and her daughter Amanda. Inside the school, alumni chatted with former teachers, tours of the school were given while past and present students and faculty purchased commemorative t-shirts, bricks and ink prints of the school. The event raised $4,000 towards forming a scholarship fund for Marion Street alumni at the high school level.
