The Rockville Centre Riptide, girls U-19, just completed its first season in the Long Island Junior Soccer League's Division 1. The Riptide finished in second place with a 7 win, 2 loss record. The season finale was a 3-0 victory against the previously undefeated first place team. The Riptide finished the season with five shut out wins (7 goals against in 9 games).
The Riptide started as a winless U-10 team in Division 8 and scored just one goal for the entire season. Members of the team who persevered through the difficult seasons to enjoy the rewards of successful ones are Megan Devine, Meghan Donlon, Anastasia McCrystal, Trish Reynolds, Megan Sullivan and Sara Rosenthal. The Riptide played in the National Elite Women's Soccer Showcase on Nov. 28 and 29.
