      There are all kinds of personality problems that people are very familiar with. Ask a 12-year-old kid if he knows anyone who is anxious, depressed, obsessive, compulsive, phobic, neurotic, and he will know exactly what you are talking about. Ask him about a borderline personality disorder though and he won't have the foggiest idea of what you mean. But then again, you probably wouldn't ask that question. It's a term that most people have never heard of or know very little about.
      Often the people themselves who have this troubling syndrome don't even know how to describe what's wrong. Yet, anyone who interacts with a borderline over a period of time knows something is wrong, even though identifying exactly what the problem is may seem very confusing. Here's why:
