Three Kings Day celebrated in Rockville Centre

On Jan. 8, the Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre held its annual Three Kings Celebration at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center.  More than 190 children and their parents attended. Because of the generosity of many different local and non-local groups, organizers were able to distribute more than 600 toys to the children. In addition to the outstanding job the three kings did, the crowd was thrilled with a big mascot dog, a surprise, that Gloria Baca from United Healthcare supplied.

Three Kings Day, also known as the Feast of the Epiphany, celebrates the Biblical story of the three kings — Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar — who followed a star that led them to Bethlehem, where they brought baby Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The festivities include gifts for children and refreshments.
