South High School senior Kristen Wraith won for the third straight year. Robert McKee, a seventh-grader at Memorial Junior High School, took second place. Zakiya Jamal was a repeat winner, as her poem placed third for the second year in a row. She is a junior at North High School.

Honorable mention went to Allyce Yang, a sixth-grader at Forest Road School. All four winners read their poems at the awards presentation.
