Tri-perfecta

Sixteen-year-old Zoe Daniels, a resident of East Rockaway and a junior at Lynbrook High School and a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music National Honor Society, as well as class treasurer, has recently been accepted to New York All State Mixed Chorus as a Soprano 1 and she has also been awarded Honorable Mention for her DuPont Challenge submission entitled “Alzheimers: Diabetes of the Brain?” Only 25 people nationwide received honorable mention from DuPont.  

Zoe’s involvement in the music program at school has resulted in her participation in Nassau All County Chorus since 5th grade and in her participation in school shows including the lead in Lynbrook High School’s Musical production of Once On This Island. She is also a member of the High School jazz band on trumpet, and will be traveling to Rochester in December to perform with the New York All State Chorus.  

Zoe has also been a member of the Lynbrook schools’ science research program since 8th grade and in addition to the DuPont award, Zoe received High Honors from the Long Island Science Congress for her project, “The Warped Stroop Test.”  She spent the summer at Harvard taking marine biology and psychology courses while performing with the Harvard summer chorus. She plays Varsity Lacrosse for Lynbrook High School in the Spring.  

Zoe has been her grade treasurer with the Student Government Association every year of high school, dedicating time to raising money for their senior prom. She donates her time singing at charity events such as American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and a Cabaret Night, held every winter in Lynbrook, to raise money for the local food banks.  Zoe has a twin brother, Zach, who will be attending New York All State Jazz Band on the Vibes, and will also be performing in Rochester in December. He also has a nine-year-old brother, Zane.  

“Zoe has always been driven to be the best she can be in everything she does,” said her mother, Lisa Daniels. “I am in awe of the depth and diversity of her talent and intellect, and the level of accomplishment she has achieved at such a young age. She makes me proud every single day!”
