The Valley Stream Historical Society brought holiday spirit and creativity to the community with its Bowling Pin Snowman Auction held at the Pagan-Fletcher Restoration.
Participants were invited to transform plain bowling pins into unique snowmen, showcasing their imagination and artistic skills.
Despite a snowstorm on Dec. 14, a steady crowd came out to view the creatively decorated pins and take part in the silent auction. Rather than awarding places or prizes, the auction allowed attendees to bid quietly on their favorite snowmen, with pins successfully finding new homes by the end of the event.
The auction raised over $300 in support of the Historical Society’s mission, demonstrating strong community engagement and generosity. Organizers expressed admiration for the wide range of creative designs, reflecting the rich artistic talent within Valley Stream. Encouraged by this year’s success, the Society hopes to host another Bowling Pin Snowman Auction next holiday season.
