A Valley Stream man has been charged in road rage incident on the Southern State Parkway. New York State Police arrested 31-year-old Paul Bennett of Teneyck Avenue.

On May 30 shortly before 5 p.m., State Police say that Bennett, while driving a Suzuki motorcycle westbound near the Nassau Road exit, was struck from behind by a green Honda Odyssey. That's when, police say, Bennett got off his motorcycle and jumped on the hood of minivan, smashing the windshield with his foot.

During a search of Bennett, police found a metal pill holder on his key ring with nine Lorazepam pills and one Effexor, drugs used to treat anxiety and depression. Bennett stated these pills were his, under a prescription from his doctor.

Police charged Bennett with a felony county of third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, two counts of prescription on non-original container and several vehicle and traffic law violations.
