Congratulations to the Valley Stream Tigercubs on a second place finish at the Syosset Colombus Day Tournament. Battling strong winds and cold rain the Tigercubs started the weekend undefeated with two wins and a 0-0 tie. Sunday brought more wind and a tough opponent. In the final game on Sunday the Tigercubs fell behind 2-0 to a strong team from Huntington.
A late goal by Joe G cut the lead in half. But time ran out as the Tigercubs tried to even the score. It was an excellent tournament for a group of 7 and 8 year old boys playing together for the first time.
Goals were scored by Joe G (3), Ricky G and Billy R. Superb defense by Christopher B and goalkeeping by Jake T kept the Tigercubs in every game. Thanks to all the Coaches and Parents.

Chelsea Lions 1 Vs Pirates 1
What an awesome game we had. Better than watching the playoffs. Frankie was the man slamming one into the net for our only goal. With tremendous pressure from the opposition our goalies Conner and Adam saved the day. Christopher and Zach played extreme defense along with Ayo. Midfielders Ross, Eric, Anthony and Michael were back and forth, in and out of the zone like ping pong balls. No one ever stopped. Intensity and determination not to mention humidity filled the air. In our most competitive game yet we say Thank You to the Chelsea Lions.
