“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Gentles to Valley Stream UFSD 13,” Judith LaRocca, Superintendent of Schools, said. “His proven record of financial stewardship and operational excellence makes him a valuable addition to our leadership team. We look forward to the positive impact his expertise will bring to our district and community.”

He also managed federal, state and local grants, ensuring proper allocation, timely reporting and compliance with fiscal and programmatic requirements and delivered consistent internal and external audit results.
“I am honored to join a district so deeply committed to academic excellence and fiscal responsibility,” Gentles said. “I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Education, administration, staff, and community to support the success of every student.”
In addition to financial oversight, Gentles has managed key operational areas including facilities, transportation, food service, safety and security and instructional technology. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Touro University Worldwide, a Master of Education in Education Policy and Leadership from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and Finance from Manhattan College.
