Vandals damage 18 cars Two teens charged for using BB gun in 4 incidents

      Police said they have arrested two suspects in connection with four of the incidents.
      The 18 cars were scratched, and their windshields and windows smashed by vandals in a string of criminal mischief spanning from Feb. 8 to Feb. 16, mostly in Woodmere but also in Woodsburgh, Hewlett, Lawrence and Cedarhurst, officials said.
      The vandalism spree began sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Feb. 8 when seven vehicles were damaged:
      n The rear window of a 2000 Toyota was smashed on Meadow Drive in Woodsburgh.
      n The front passenger window was broken on a 1999 Audi parked on Channel Drive in Woodsburgh.
      n The front driver's window of a 1996 Jeep and the front passenger window of a 2001 Jeep were smashed on Patricia Lane in Woodmere.
      n The front window was broken on a 2002 Honda on Neptune Avenue in Woodmere.
      n The front passenger window on a 1999 Toyota was smashed on East Broadway in Woodmere.
      n The front driver's window was broken on a 2000 Ford on Harold Road in Hewlett.

      After the initial crime spree a total of 11 more parked vehicles were damaged:
      n The windshield of a 2002 Audi
was broken and the car's body was scratched at the LIRR parking lot in Cedarhurst sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 8.
      n Damage was done to the driver's side mirror of a 2000 Volvo and to a 2001 Volvo parked on New McNeil Avenue in Lawrence, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 11.
      n The front windshield of a 1988 Nissan was smashed on Grove Avenue in Woodmere between 11 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 9 a.m. the following day.
      n Damage was done to the driver's side front door, dashboard and steering lock of a 1992 Toyota parked on Bryant Street in Woodmere at 9 p.m. on Feb. 15.
      n The driver's side window of a 2001 Nissan was smashed on Hemlock Drive in Woodmere at 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 13.
      n The rear window on a 2001 Pathfinder was broken on Hemlock Drive in Woodmere at 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 13.
      n The driver's side window and driver's side passenger window on a 1986 Plymouth were broken on Division Street in Hewlett at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 13.
      n A 2001 Honda was scratched on the passenger side front and rear door and the rear tire of the car was punctured. The left tire of a 1986 Cadillac was damaged. Both incidents occurred on Derby Avenue in Woodmere between 10 p.m. on Feb. 16 and 1 p.m. the next day.
      n The front passenger window was broken and items were taken from a 2000 Ford parked on Brower Avenue in Woodmere sometime between 8 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 6 a.m. the following day.
      Two 17-year-olds were arrested on Feb. 13 and charged with four of the incidents, police said. They were using a BB gun to shoot out the windows of the cars, police added. They were charged with the vandalism to cars on Hemlock Drive and Division Street, officials said.

Squad said they still are seeking one to three others who may be involved in the spree.
      We are in the process of interviewing possible witnesses and people with information, King said. We're following up on leads. We're hoping to get them before the weekend.
