Held at the 11th hour on the 11th day in the 11th month, community members joined with the veterans and their family members to honor those who served in the armed forces, including those who gave their lives for freedom.
Both a federal and state holiday in all states, Veterans Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.
