"I love that Halloween gives us permission to play dress-up. Whether we’re dressing up as our favorite superhero, pop icon, or idol, we get to step into the land of make-believe for a day. Oh yeah — we also get to eat copious amounts of candy!

"Like many, I grew up celebrating Halloween, dressing up, trick-or-treating, and enjoying the fun of the night. While it wasn’t a tradition I was familiar with growing up, as an adult, I’ve come to appreciate the deeper meaning of All Hallows’ Eve — the origin of Halloween — a time to pause and remember those who came before us. Enjoy the laughter and costumes, but may we also take a moment to remember those who came before us and profoundly shaped our lives.
