Building renovations continue
Jan. 3, contractors began building renovations to the library, starting with the Children's Room. The
library remains open during the renovation period, but certain areas of the library may be inaccessible at times. Most programming will be postponed during the renovation, so the library asks patrons to be patient.
Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest Children of all ages are invited to participate in the library's 7th annual Children's Sidewalk Chalk Art Show on Saturday,
April 16, at 10 a.m.(Rain date: Saturday, April 23). Each child will be assigned a section of sidewalk along the walk in front of the library to the Village Hall to create his artwork. Colored chalk will be provided to each child. Light refreshments will be served; door prizes will be awarded. All children will receive a certificate of achievement for their participation. Japanese Music & Dance The library will be presenting "Kikyo Genso" on Thursday,
April 21,at 7 p.m., for children, ages 5 and up, and parents. Kikyo Genso will perform traditional Japanese music and dance at this special program. This is the first in the library's musical series, "More Music & Stories from Around the World," which is partially funded by a Nassau Grant for the Arts administered by the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport.
