Village of Rockville Centre to hold special election

The Village of Rockville Centre will hold a special election for trustee on Sept. 15.

Petitions for candidates to be placed on the ballot will be collected at Village Hall from July 27 to July 30. Potential candidates would run in contest with Trustee Nancy Howard to fill the balance of an unexpired, one-year term.

All voting will be conducted at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center on North Oceanside Road from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 15.

Eligible persons wishing to vote must be registered with the Nassau County Board of Elections at least ten days prior to the election. Sept. 14 is the last day for the village clerk to receive applications for absentee ballots to qualified voters.

This special village election was delayed from earlier this year as per an executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
