Villager receives L.I. Business News ‘Leadership In Law’ award

Michael L. Faltischek, founding partner of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. , has been named a recipient of the L.I. Business News “Leadership in Law” award, recognizing individuals whose leadership has had a positive impact in the legal profession as well as the community. Faltischek was inducted on Nov. 14 at Crest Hollow Country Club.

Faltischek, a resident of Rockville Centre, chairs the firm’s Energy Practice Group and is a member of its Corporate & Securities Department. He is a founding member and chairs the Long Island Angel Network, which provides a forum for entrepreneurs, investors and businesses to examine opportunities in new technologies or business models. He also helped found Stony Brook University’s (SBU) Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, and serves on its Advisory Board. The center fosters research and commercialization of promising technologies developed at Brookhaven Lab, SBU and other institutions. He is general counsel to the New York State Smart Grid Consortium.

Faltischek has been a frequent lecturer for the New York State Bar Association in various areas of corporate and business law, including Forming and Advising Businesses, Limited Liability Companies and Law Firm Management. He has conducted programs on Corporate Governance issues and was instrumental in the formation of the firm’s Corporate Governance Practice Group, which addresses the needs of corporate leaders. Long Island Business News, in its annual “Who’s Who in Law,” has frequently recognized Faltischek as one of the leading members of the legal profession on Long Island.
