Fuller has served on the North Merrick board since 1998, and in the PTAs and on district committees for 11 years.
Fuller earned a degree in business administration and a master's in elementary education. She began her career as a bank auditor, so she understands business and is good with school budgets. She ended her career in the financial world when her daughter, who's now an eighth-grader at Merrick Avenue Middle School, was born. For the past two years, Fuller has been a kindergarten teacher in the Plainedge School District.
Her opponent, Mary Ramo, brings a lot to the table. For the past three years, she has served as president of the North Merrick Community Association, an incredibly active group. And she's a regular at school board meetings and PTA functions. She's also a member of Bellmore-Merrick Parents for Change, which grew out of the Mepham football sex-abuse scandal.
But given Fuller's excellent qualifications -- in education and business -- we cannot see voting her out of her seat. Vote Linda Fuller for the North Merrick Board of Education.
