According to fifth squad detectives, residents awoke to find Anthony Haynes, 23, of Brooklyn and Erlyn Binet, 21, and Eddie Hernandez, 20, both of Ridgewood, in their home. The masked men demanded money from the homeowner after tying up family members with duct tape. The family was able to free themselves and phone police after the subjects fled. No one was hurt during the incident.
Haynes, Binet and Hernandez were arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and charged with robbery in the 1st degree, burglary in the 1st degree, criminal use of a firearm in the 1st degree and conspiracy in the 4th degree. All three pled not guilty at arraignment on Wednesday, Sept. 14 and face from 5 to 25 years in prison. Hernandez and Haynes are being held on $500,000 bail and Binet is being held on $400,000.
