Frederick A. Parola, of Wantagh, officially became an Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor ceremony on Jan. 20 at Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church.
Parola’s Eagle Scout project was the planning and construction of a handicap-accessibility ramp for parishioners and members of the Bellmore Presbyterian Church, and involved the help of nearly 50 additional scouts and volunteers.
Wantagh Troop 96 Scouts, along with Legislator Steve Rhoads, were in attendance at the ceremony. Reverend James Barnum gave a short speech, congratulating the new Eagle Scout. Parola’s family also sat in the audience, offering him support.
