According to Lisa Borbeck, the secretary at Plattduesche, the deer disappeared between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on July 1. Borbeck is hoping that the person or people who stole the deer will return it promptly. "Many of the residents are still very upset about it," said Borbeck.
The home runs on a not-for-profit basis. "When someone takes something of ours, they are in essence taking a gift that was given to us," said Borbeck.
"For what they take from the old people, they should be ashamed of themselves," said one of the residents at Plattduetsche.
At this time, it is not known who is responsible for the stealing the deer, and no one has come forward with any information.
If any knows about the whereabouts of the the deer, the Herald is offering a $25 reward for information leading up to its recovery. Call 569-4000, ext. 209. Callers will remain anonymous.
