The parade will step off at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27. Following the parade, services for all those who gave their lives for the country will be held at Veterans Memorial Park in front of the Recreation Center on Oceanside Road. Wreaths will be placed at memorials for villagers killed in war.
Members of the village's Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will hand out American flags along the parade route.
The parade will leave parking field Number 2 through the south entrance on Washington Street, go left on North Village Avenue, right on Quealy Place and College Place, south on North Park Avenue, then east on Maple Avenue to the end, where it will go left on Long Beach Road to the fork, bear right onto Oceanside Road, past the reviewing stand and then turn into the park.
This year's parade will be dedicated to World War II veterans. Leading the parade will be Grand Marshal John J. Gallagher and the Officer of the Day Paul Kuchler.
Post Commander Charlie Sadler will provide the welcoming address and Mayor Eugene Murray is the speaker. Msgr. James P. Kelly will perform the invocation and Rev. James P. Dalton-Thompson will perform the benediction.
Rockville Centre police and members of American Legion Post 303 will provide the annual rifle salute.
