Rockville Centre ended January in true island style.

The annual Enchanted Winterland fundraiser held its second Margaritaville evening on Jan. 31, giving village residents a way to escape the cold to an island paradise (at the St. Agnes Parish Center).

The evening was a fundraiser for the Rockville Centre Community Fund, which has been helping village residents in need for more than 20 years.

More than 500 people came out to the event. While the totals haven’t been calculated yet, last year’s Margaritaville resulted in a donation of almost $20,000 to the Community Fund, and it’s expected that this year’s did just as well, if not better. The even also honored the Wohlfarth family, which owns Front Street Bakery, for their contributions to the community.
