Though the nurses at Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital in Oceanside have faced some tough times battling on the front-line against the coronavirus, they showed their spirits remained high while celebrating Nurses Week.

Representatives from the 1,000 nurses serving the hospital busted a move and showed their humourous side to ring in Nurses Week. The nurses took a moment to encourage others and humerously recognize the special week during these unprecedented times by creating a series of short videos on TikTok, a short-form mobile video platform.

Nurses Week is particularly special this year as nurses have risked their personal safety to deliver care under very difficult circumstances. People worldwide are recognizing nurses for their selfless commitment and heroic efforts to treat patients who are battling the coronavirus.

Every year, National Nurses Week lasts from May 6 to 12, the birth date of Florence Nightingale, a nurse who became famous for treating wounded soldiers during the Crimean war. Nurses at MSSN will join with nurses around the world to virtually celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
