Would you like to come home to find this planted in front of your home without any explanation?

We bought our house on beautiful Princeton road 25 years ago. We picked this street because of it's charming old fashioned street lights and for the fact that all the unsightly electric lines were in the back yard. Yesterday, we came home to this huge electric pole placed right in front of our home and the homes of several of our neighbors. After several calls to the village, it seemed no one knew where these poles came from. Finally, I was able to speak with the acting superintendent Tom Cardile, who informed me that our old fashioned street lights were unrepairable and they put up these huge poles to light up the street! He said they will be temporary until they can put in the budget this project of replacing the original designed lighting. Since I moved to princeton road 25 years ago these lights have not been working so why do they think it is ok to put up these "temporary" eye sores without having a project in the works for repair? Shouldn't this project been thought out and discussed with the residents directly affected by this? Is this where our tax money is going to poorly managed projects? This is very disturbing to say the least to find out no one but this one person of the village officials knew why these poles went up, and that there is no work order generated for this project or completion date set thus far. Who is in charge in our town? Who is making all these poor choices without allowing us residents to have a voice. We here on Princeton road are disappointed in our "town officials".
