The Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy to Malawi, Lisa Vickers, congratulated Kevin Koegel, of Westbury, after he was sworn in as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer. Koegel, who graduated from W.T. Clarke High School in 2001, will be serving as a public health advisor to the Malawi government in Africa for nine months. He received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in 2010 from the University of Arizona where he was a Peace Corps Fellow. Koegel also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Grenada from 2005 to 2007 after graduating with honors from Providence College.
