35 Valley Stream students join University at Albany's largest class ever

The University at Albany is welcoming 35 students from Valley Stream this fall, part of over 3,500 students in the incoming class of 2030.

 

The students are a portion of the 512 coming from Long Island. They have completed their welcome week activities and are under way with classes. They were selected out of 36,000 total applicants from 40 states and 35 countries. This is the largest incoming class in the school’s history, university officials said.

 

"I am delighted to welcome these first-year and transfer students to the University at Albany, and I look forward to all they will accomplish at our university,” Havidan Rodriguez, president of the university, said in a news release. “Our world-class faculty and dedicated staff will nurture this newest class of Great Danes, ensuring they have the resources, opportunities and support they need to succeed in college and in their careers."

 

The incoming Valley Stream student are:

 

Sean Anderson, Sandie Auguste, Jaci Baijnath, Daniel Becker, Mark Beljean,

Anthony Bilello, Devonte Brown, Stephani De Alwis, Ashley Ellis and Liana Ferguson.

 

Robert Fratti, Lia Frederique, Cassandra Gaboton, Melanie Godinez, Dante Gonzalez,

Shane Grant, Lauryn Hamm, Nicole Imbert, Anam Ayesha Khan and Anjali Khan.

 

Mick Kumar, Jaylen Limage, Melanie Mallon, Shelby Osborne, Jared Ramdyal,

And Michael Rodriguez, Cameron Samms-Hay, TJ Samuel, Anthony Smith, Jasmine Thalon. Matthew Tiwari, Naomi Verrier, Sanaa Washington, Tyler Williams and Vanessa Wilson.
